Retell a Story
Students read (or are read) a book and then have to retell the story in their own words. In this example, the book was scanned into the computer to allow the students to record the narration for the story.

All About Me
Students create an "All About Me" video to share they types of things they like and like to do.

- students can take digital photo's of the items they like, places they like to go and things they like to do
- the teacher can import the photo's into a PhotoStory
- students will narrate the story telling what each picture represents

Students create a "Field Trip" slideshow to demonstrate what was learned on the field trip.

- students create a class movie project that illustrates what they learned on their field trip
- students can write, draw or take pictures of things they learned on the field trip
- teachers will insert the items into the program to create a slideshow
- students will narrate the slideshow telling about the things they learned on the field trip

Field Trip to the Fire Hall

Field Trip to the Zoo
In this example a class takes a field trip to the zoo and use digital camera's and video camera's to capture what they've learned.

- the class gathers information about zoo animals by reading books and visiting websites
- the class prepares a list of animals they expect to see and want to learn more about on a visit to the zoo
- a visit to a local zoo or virtual field trip to a zoo is arranged
- the teacher uses a digital video camera to capture film clips of the animals on the students list
- the students can use digital still cameras to take photos of the animals
- upon their return to the classroom, the class brainstorms things they saw and what they learned about each animal on the list
- students each write about a favorite animal and complete a drawing to illustrate their text. Their work is captured with a scanner and saved as a JPEG file.
- the teacher imports the files into a program such as PhotoStory
- students then work in groups of three to write a riddle about one of the animals at the zoo, using information they learned to write the riddle.
- students are videotaped reciting their riddle
- the teacher imports the video clips into the movie program and students choose music to accompany the pictures
