SmartBoard Activities
There are a number of SmartBoard activities that can be used with your students for any subject area. The SMART website has hundreds of lesson activities that can be downloaded to your computer for you to use or modify.
Here are a few examples of activities you can use with your class:
Creating a Podcast
A podcast can be used to describe events or items, to tell a story or give information.
Story about a Picture
In this example, the student looked at the picture (either one they created or someone else's) and had to describe what they think is happening in the picture.
Students can also create a podcast telling about themselves - their pets, family, things they like to do.
Using PhotoStory
Creating an Alphabet Movie
- Each student will learn choose one letter of the alphabet
- Each student will write their letter on paper and have it scanned into the computer
- Students will look around the classroom and take pictures of items that begin with their letter
- Students will make a recording stating what letter it is and what items begin with that letter (same items as their pictures)
- The teacher will put together a slideshow to demonstrate what each letter stands for
